Can you air fry buwad or daing for danggit silog? YES.
Buwad or daing is essentially dried fish. Filipinos and coastal communities around the world have been preserving fish using sun and salt for who knows how long. Danggit or rabbitfish is a popular fish used for drying.
Using the wonders of modern technology, we got buwad na danggit or dried rabbitfish, threw them into our air fryer, and enjoyed our crispy, buwad or daing.
We reserved all remaining sodium and cholesterol to two fried malasado (runny sunny side up) eggs and a savory itlog maalat (salted egg) salad with tomatoes, onions, and cucumber.
