Ilokano proverb art: “No trabaho, gulpien, no kanen, in-inuten”

With over 120 languages spoken in the Philippines, and each one with possibly tens or even a hundred or so dialects, I often find it surprising that I can’t find a lot of sayings, quips, motivational quotes, and proverbs for each one.

For fun, and to discover these quotes, sayings, and proverbs, I began drawing and lettering my first one into a simple design.

“No trabaho, gulpien, no kanen, in-inuten.”

Ilokano proverb or saying.

An Ilokano saying which loosely translates to: “If it’s work, do it fast. If it’s food, eat it little by little.”

Words to live, and eat by!
