Rock with us in Bohol this July!
My mom retired to the Philippines after her stroke a few years ago and since then i’ve been trying my best to visit her at least once a year. Honestly, that isn’t a bad deal on my end, especially since she lives in the white-beach-ridden province of Bohol.
This year however my visit will be slightly different. In the past, visits to my mom’s hometown included drinking, karaoke, getting fat, swimming, and enjoying the sun.
This time however, i’ve added a bit more to the itinerary. Helping a free children’s clinic in my mom’s home town and publicizing a rock concert in Bohol whose proceeds will be going to the same clinic. Its mission is to improve the lives of Bohol’s most poor and malnourished children.
I realized after my mom’s stroke that making a living and making a difference should coincide with each other, so it follows that a vacation should not only benefit the visitor, but also the visited!
And who said helping others can’t be fun? Selflessness is the ultimate selfishness… so ROCK WITH US!
