The College of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
My mom’s sister, who also happens to be a sister of the nun kind, invited us to visit one of Manila’s oldest colleges during our visit in January, The College of the Holy Spirit.
The 100 year old college has geese that feed on the grounds so that they could eventually be fed to the nuns. I asked if we could have one for dinner but was turned down politely by the Mother Superior… a name I believe is the most awesome designation of leadership ever.
Any ginormous tree located at an establishment focused on the disbursement of knowledge AND run by holy people gets my official tree of knowledge stamp of approval.
Puns aside, the nuns gave us that day their daily bread, made from a million-year-old recipe. It is so awesome, they’ve been selling it to folks in the neighborhood for years.
Speaking of food, we were fed silogs (Filipino breakfasts) and fried squid chips, which thanks to @Malou_Nievera, I now call “pusitcharon.”
Maraming salamat Auntie Pat and to the sistas’ of The College of the Holy Spirit! Amen.
Oh I miss Filipino Breakfast and also DAILY BREAD! Its so delicious. 😀
I enjoyed looking at the captivating photographs and your informative captions!
Hey thanks Maria! Had an awesome time there. Can’t wait to go back and get more bread!
